Hi, I’m Holly Hansen — the hands, heart, and happily flour‑covered face behind Hansen Baked Goods, LLC, a proud veteran‑owned business. Around here, baking isn’t just something I do… It’s pretty much a lifestyle. My four hungry boys are now grown men with families and hungry kids of their own, but some things never change — they can still sniff out a fresh loaf from three rooms away and show up right on time when something warm comes out of the oven.

My kitchen is always buzzing, sourdough stretching and rising, breakfast breads puffing up in the oven, and my family popping in to “taste test” (which is really just code for stealing warm slices). I’ve learned that when you start with simple, honest ingredients, you can create food that feels like a hug from the inside out.

When I’m not elbow‑deep in dough, you’ll probably find me in the garden, chatting with my tomatoes or coaxing herbs to behave. Gardening is my happy place, especially when my granddaughter toddles along beside me, poking at plants and asking the best questions. And of course, I can’t forget my flock of backyard chickens — the real divas of the homestead. They strut around like they own the place, supply the freshest eggs a baker could dream of, and occasionally stage a full‑blown protest if I’m late with treats. Honestly, they might run the whole operation.

Cooking and baking are my love languages — whether I’m experimenting with new flavors or whipping up hearty, nourishing meals. Sharing that joy with the Spearfish community is one of my greatest blessings. Every loaf I bake carries a little bit of my family, my garden, and yes, probably a chicken supervising from the other side of the fence.
